About Malan Ideal Impact:

Malan Ideal Impact (Malan) is a local Afghan research and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) consultancy, registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Our expertise is in research, MEL, and data collection in both development and humanitarian sectors. Malan has emerged through vast ground experiences with aid actors, including USAID, DFAT, World Bank, UN agencies, bilateral donors, and other international NGOs. We provide research, TPM, MEL framework development and implementation, evaluations and reviews, data collection and analysis, and capacity building services.

Currently, Malan operates in all 31 provinces of Afghanistan, supported by a team of over 200 skilled enumerators and a main office in Kabul. Malan seeks to expand its team of qualified male and female enumerators with experience monitoring humanitarian and development portfolios. We are looking to recruit four (4) surveyors/enumerators across all 34 provinces of Afghanistan: Badakhshan, Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Bamyan, Daykundi, Farah, Faryab, Ghazni, Ghor, Helmand, Herat, Jawzjan, Kabul, Kandahar, Kapisa, Khost, Kunar, Kunduz, Laghman, Logar, Nangarhar, Nimroz, Nuristan, Paktika, Paktiya, Panjshir, Parwan, Samangan, Sar-e Pul, Takhar, Uruzgan, Wardak, and Zabul.

Job Description:

The Malan surveyors will conduct interviews and observations in designated provinces/districts, adhering to specified sample sizes outlined in data collection digital forms/communicated by the immediate supervisor. S/he will collect and manage data under MEL Department guidance, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. The role involves verifying data completeness, conducting follow-up interviews as needed, and using electronic devices for data recording. The surveyor will implement protocols from the quality assurance supervisor and field coordinator, promptly reporting any issues. Flexibility in work hours, including weekends and evenings, is required for field visits and interviews. Additional duties include attending job-related training, performing tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor, and contributing to overall data collection objectives. The surveyor will perform other task/s related to data collection assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements:

The candidates must meet the requirements below:

1. Minimum of two years of experience with tablet-based data collection tools such as Survey123, ODK, SurveyCTO, Fulcrum, Kobo or other similar applications;

2. Possession of at least an associate or bachelor’s level university degree;

3. Willingness to travel to rural areas/provinces.
