Title: Truck Driver

Description: Responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks while performing duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications & Criteria: • Experience of minimum of three (3) recent years driving long haul trucks, out of which at least one (1) year can be verified by reference letter (EVL) signed and stamped by a current or former employer. • Fluent English. • Have a valid CDL driving license (or similar in the local country) since at least three (3) years ago. • No Convictions in Criminal Record. • No current License Suspension or Revocation • No serious or disqualifying traffic violation in the past five (5) years • No preventable accidents involving fatality, bodily injuries or disabling damage to motor vehicle in (5) years • Completion of FULL background check • Comply with Department of Transportation Drug and alcohol regulations • Minimum 23 years old

Essential Functions of Truck Driver • Maintain accurate records and logs according to DOT regulations • Follow supervisor’s instructions on material pick up and delivery procedures • Operate truck safely and apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations • May be required to drive combinations with variety of trailers such as live bottom, end dump, pups, bottom dump, side dump, dry van, flatbed, full, depending on each company requirements. Must be able to hook and un-hook these combinations properly. • Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight. Assist in loading and unloading as required. • Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips and record any defects they find; responsible for brake adjustments, tire chain-ups and minor repairs as needed while on the road. • Reports serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel • Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order • Follow schedule to ensure timely delivery • Ability to execute maximum force to lift, push, pull or carry objects weighting up to 50 lbs.

Summary

Operate Tractor –Trailer combination between Company/Customer facilities, in order to pick up and deliver freight in a legal, safe, timely, and efficient manner to include drop, hook, spot or otherwise interchange equipment for loading and unloading at various locations, as assigned. The expectation for this position, the driver will be away from home domicile for an extended period of time, unless otherwise directed by management. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Maneuver and deliver/backhaul truck loads of product and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned.
  2. Observe and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding hours of service, log book, vehicle inspections, load inspections, and securing load. To include utilizing electronic logging device (paper logs when needed), on board vehicle tracking system in efficient manner.
  3. Operate a tractor and trailer in a legal/safe manner consistent with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations, and Company policies. To include the utilization of all on board safety features.
  4. Complete and submit all Company paperwork to include but not limited to manifest, bill of lading, proof of delivery pay envelopes, overage, shortage, damaged claims, and trip reports.
  5. As assigned, the physical process of loading and unloading of product may be required.
  6. Responsible for seal integrity and the reporting of an accurate /verified case count and condition of product during deliveries

Minimum Education

Valid CDL License

High School Graduate or GED

Experience Requirements

Minimum Two years over the road Tractor/Trailer driving experience with trailers preferred.

One Year over the road driving experience with degree from accredited driving school.

Experience Preferred

Strong communication skills.

  1. Able to drive a tractor with a trailer.
  2. Able to remain seated for extended periods of time up to the limits established by DOT regulations.

Compensation Data

Summary

The primary purpose of the jockey driver is to transfer full/empty trailers from the holding areas to the dock area and then transfer empty/Full trailers from the dock area to designated parking spaces and to include regular rotation to other positions within the department.

Schedule : Part time. Able to pick days/shift. Saturday and Sunday (First, Second and third shift openings), Mon (first and second shift openings)

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates jockey truck transferring trailers to and from the processing area.
  • Ensures that trailers are processed in the order designated by management.
  • Ensures that YMS (Yard Management System) is updated and policy followed. Keeping the yard organized and in order.
  • Perform pre-op inspection of vehicle and post-op cleaning daily and managed the refer units(settings) in the yard.
  • Yard checks are done 2 times in a 24hr period. Helping the vendors and service techs.
  • Being able to operate the Yard tractor computer and being able to enter the yard check in the system.
  • Communicate with the gate, the dock office, and management.

Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (35 to 65 lbs) to heights from 5″ to 84″, reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly. Summary

Accurately and timely loads and delivers feed according to feed order directives. Delivers to individual customers as assigned by dispatcher. Determines and conveys needed repairs and/or preventative maintenance to fleet mechanics.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures timely and accurate delivery of feed according to dispatcher scheduling.

Performs a pre-trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics.

Ensures the correct weight of feed is loaded into the truck and the truck and correct weight is delivered to the farm locations.

Accurately operates boom to cleanly direct the feed into the holding bin assuring that feed is not spilled onto bin or ground; reports spills and problems to the Mill Manager or dispatcher.

Ensures accurate recordkeeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and time sheets, no hold and feed pick up.

May need to climb truck (15 ft) to direct loading and occasionally uses a #5 sledgehammer to remove stuck feed as necessary.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

2 years experience. Reading, writing and math skills. Class A Commercial driver’s license required.
