Context:

Under the overall supervision of the CCCM Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the successful candidate will contribute to roll out IOM CCCM programmes and will be responsible to support IOM CCCM unit, he/she will perform the following duties.:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Support community mobilization for the CCCM programme activities, organization of assessments, focus group discussions, awareness campaigns and community engagement activities at site level.
  2. Support community mobilization for IOM and partners assistance distributions at site level within targeted communities with particular emphasis on meaningful inclusion of women, children, elderly, and persons with specific needs into decision-making processes.

  1. Enable effective dialogue with the site population through setting up of information sharing and feedback mechanisms.
  2. Provide information to the site population about the assistance and services available in the site and how to access them. Promote the participation of the IDPs, returnees and host populations at site level, with particular emphasis on meaningful inclusion of women, children, elderly and persons with specific needs.
  3. Help identify and report gaps and/or duplication in service delivery at site level in coordination with site communities and relevant stakeholder and inform CCCM mobile team leader, CCCM Field Assistant and/or CCCM PM.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications and Experience

 

Education

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in social sciences, political science, development, international relations, or related field with at least one year of relevant work experience

 

or

 

High school diploma in the above fields of studies with three years of relevant professional experience.

 

Experience

 

Experience in a Camp Coordination and Camp Management (an advantage)

Strong ability to engage with community members, partners, and other stakeholders in a respectful manner (essential).

Familiarity with the local area and surrounding (desirable)

Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, and monitoring

Experience in community mobilization (essential).

 

 

SKILLS

 

Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.

Ability to work independently, with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to work in challenging settings, under pressure while respecting tight deadlines.

Demonstrated ability for leadership in the context of partnership building and consensual decision-making.

Knowledge of camp management-related technical guidelines, standards, and indicators.

 

 

Languages

Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
